My goals in 2020

I read the book “Mindsharing: The Art of Crowdsourcing Everything” – written by Lior Zoref. The book tells that if your social network is large enough and you share your goals with them, it will increase the chance to achieve all the goals. I achieved most of my goals in 2019 but I had not shared them with my social networks. This year, I set my goals a bit bigger than last year. So, I am going to share my goals in this post.

1. Read 20 books:

On average, I read 13 books each year. This year, I want to break my record by increasing the number of books to 20. I already have a list of books that I want to read this year but it is not enough for the goal. I am going to find out more books to add to my list. I want to learn more about finance (both personal and world), business, engineering or leadership stories (like “The right kind of crazy” – written by William Patrick, or “Alibaba’s World” – written by Porter Erisman).

2. Become a co-author of at least 2 research papers:

I am currently working as a research assistant at my university. The more I work, the more I learn and the more I am into researching. One of my career paths is going a bit further into the research world so that I can meet more people, learn more technical skills and solve more problems. Importantly, I am in the final year of my undergraduate degree now. Therefore, being a co-author of at least 2 research papers might help me a lot on my next move.

3. Pitch the idea and raise funding:

I and my friends are currently working on a project that might create an impact on the community. We plan to publish the project this April, so we have been working relentlessly these few months. Also, we plan to find investors and pitch the idea to them from this June. I do not have much experience in pitching the idea and finding potential investors. Therefore, I will need to learn more from the tips of experienced people. This is a great chance for me to learn more about entrepreneurship.

4. Publish at least 30 blog posts:

My blog is where I share my experience. However, I did not publish many posts last year because I did not spend much time on creating the content even I had ideas. To make the website more active, I plan to create more contents about the experience, life, and technology. If you look at the menu and the design of my blog, you will understand my intention. Also, if you are reading this blog, it means that I have been published 3 posts this year.

5. Travel to other countries:

This year might not be a good time for traveling. However, if there is a chance, I want to travel to many countries for either work or holidays. For me, traveling is a good time to observe everything around my life. Also, the more I observe, the more ideas I have and the more motivated I am for doing creativity. One of the most desired places I want to travel to is Silicon Valley in the US in order to observe the technology industry there.

Of course, these are not all the goals for my 2020. There are other goals that I personally think it is quite sensitive to share. So, I keep them and will share my experience in future posts.

Let me know your goals and how I can help.

Thank you for reading.
